Objectives

Different objectives in the field of land reforms has been defined in "Three Year Interim Plan, TYIP" and National Development Strategy paper. The objectives of the ministry is listed below:


To guarantee land ownership to the landless people who are weak in social       and economical status.
 
To formulate appropriate land policy and land use policy so as to maximize       productivity.    
To make land administration service more effective by developing LIS.    
To develop skilled human resource in the field of surveying, mapping and land       administration.    

To protect and conserve government/public land, cultural heritage and guthi land.

   


Mission

   

In Nepal, land is the main source of economic production and it is also pivot to the socio-economic structure of the population in general. As all the activities of human development are centered on land, the management of land for diversified and balanced development through proper use of land adhering to topography, structure, quality and capability becomes necessary. The mission of MOLRM is to support the following through proper land management and proper land administration:
Good governance
Social justice
Environmental protection
Improved productivity of land
Poverty alleviation
Sustainable development
