In the past, the rajguthi was
operated and managed by the Ministry of Finance. Later, Guthi
Corporation was established in 2021 B.S. to administer the
rajguthi by the separate organization. Guthis are established
by our forefather for the objective of conducting and continuing
religious, cultural, social and charitable works. The land
ownership to guthis was provided for a regular income source
to construct and preserve the religious resources like Math,
Dewalaya, Paati, Pauwa, temples, taps and other arts and architects
and to give continuity over their objectives and importance.
Among them, more than two thousand rajguthis are under work
into the Kingdom.
Guthi Corporation (functioning under Guthi Corporation
Act, 2033 B.S.) has been operating the following works:
To conduct rajguhis in an organized way.
To help keep continuity and enliven the prevailing religious
and cultural feasts, festivals and fairs. To
preserve promote and re-construct religious and cultural resources.
To administer the land owned by guthis.
The
management committee of Guthi Corporation consists of 9 members
including the chairman. Presently, 11 branch offices have
been working under this Corporation. The Guthi Corporation
related functions have been operated by the concern District
Land Revenue Offices where its branch offices have not existed.
